After a very humid, we’ve had some great weather the first couple of weeks of school. That makes for some great racing conditions. Take advantage of it and get out there and race. We had some great races last weekend and the rest of September is loaded with good events.
We were talking the other night and it came up that you don’t always have to go into a race rested. You can still train and jump in a race just because it’s fun to race or it supports a great cause. It’s fun being part of a big, well run event. Every race can’t be a PR so why not just enjoy the event sometimes.
In 2 weeks, we have the West Chester STOMP on a Friday night and Unite for HER on Saturday morning. Why not do both of them? STOMP is usually 800+ people and Unite for Her already has 600 registered. They’re both going to be a lot of fun and have a lot of energy. Race one and bring your family to one.
This week’s workouts:
Tuesday-5 x 1000 w/200 jr at 5k pace. If you’re running the Rock and Roll 1/2, run these at slightly faster than 1/2 marathon pace.
Friday-8 x 400 w/200 jr at 2 mile pace or slightly faster.
Long Run=10-14 miles.
Specific Philly Marathon training will start next week.
